Located in the northern part of Wakayama Prefecture, Izumisano is bordered by Izumisano City and Wakayama City in Osaka Prefecture. Blessed with a rich water source, the Kino River, and a mild climate, the area is famous throughout Japan for its seasonal fruits such as peaches, hassaku, strawberries and kiwis, which are among the country's top producers.
